Sphinx stunned their hosts from three divisions higher tonight to progress in the F.A. Cup by three goals to two.

 

Sphinx were 2 up at half time through Kelvin Phillips (18) & Kyle Rhodes (35 - pen).

Stafford pulled one back on 77 (Kasiama) but Jerome Murdock extended the lead again on 81. The home side weren't done yet and pulled another back through a penalty on 84 (Thorley) but Sphinx held out.

The crowd was 465.

 

Sphinx progress to face Bedworth United in the next round on Saturday 10th October at Sphinx Drive.
