Coventry Sphinx 1 v 0 Kirby Muxloe

Coventry Sphinx done there first double of the season with a well earned 1-0 victory over Kirby Muxloe. Sphinx were the better of the two teams in the first half with Ashley Jackson going close with an effort that was deflected for a corner, Ricky Cutting had a effort cleared off the line from an acute angle, Cutting then made the keeper work with a rasping shot that the keeper parried before collecting and Galdins went close with a 30 yard effort.

The second half was more of a even affair with both teams creating half chances. The changing point of the match happened in a 5 minute period before half time Carl O'Neill pulled off a great save from a goal bound shot but was up on his feet to pull off an amazing save from the rebound with the Kirby Muxloe bench celebrating thinking that O'Neill had no chance the save was that good.

Kirby were well and truly gutted when Johal teed up Atkins whose 30 yard thunderbolt gave the keeper no chance. So another 3pts towards safety and up next is Gornal on Thursday 14th at Sphinx Drive who have so far put 17 goals past Sphinx with only 1 in reply.
