Under 14s Bedworth Nursing Cup Final Report

The morning started with a light training session followed by brunch. Then onto the ground after winning the toss we had the home dressing room. The game started 100 miles an hour with Athletic hitting the ball from back to front and with Sphinx stinging passes together there was no quarter given and the second half arrived with both keepers in super form.

Second half arrived and the rallying cry was keep playing football the right way. Athletic were going for it with a formation change from 4 4 2 to 3 4 3 they were like to heavyweights slugging it out again both keepers were outstanding with 3 mins to go in second half of extra time and penalties beckoning Liam Cahill sent Mason Osborne through with a pin point pass and with the slightest touches of his head with the Athletics centre half about to kick it into the stand Mason raced through with his right foot smashed the ball into the left corner! The ground erupted and with Naill McEnery the Sphinx goalkeeper being voted man of the match all that was left was the singing from the Sky Blue and White changing rooms of champions champions ola ola
